Size is no indication of Excellence

When the topic of business excellence comes up, Tom Peters is usually one of the authors mentioned. He wrote or co-authored:
  • In Search of Excellence
  • A Passion For Excellence
  • The Heart and Soul of Excellence
  • Re-Imagine: Excellence in a Disruptive Age
As well as many other books and is a highly sought after international speaker. So you might expect him to think of the large multi-national companies as being the best companies.

But, you would be wrong. Earlier this month Tom Peters wrote a small piece entitled "Duh!"

Are Clients a Liability or an Asset?

From an accounting standpoint, does your business treat your clients as expenses or as income?

The government requires developers to file environmental impact statements before starting certain kinds of projects. Does your business require your accounting department to file a client satisfaction impact statement before it cuts expenses?

Some cost cutting measures may have a short-term positive impact on your ROI but have a long term negative impact on your CRM and your WOM.
